At our church we make a big deal about being the church in everything we do and you demonstrate this so vividly.
Having been on site at COTP (and having left a piece of my heart there) I am amazed at how you young people shoulder and handle the literal life and death situations on a daily basis. I don't imagine me being able to do that when I was your age but, it just shows how God equips you to do what He calls you to do.
We hear and see in the news of all the devastation, disease, poverty, etc., etc., with little news of hope. But I know of a bright spot of hope (COTP) staffed with a few hopeful young people with the love of God in their hearts and the willingness to spend themselves to offer a bit of hope (and true love) to a beautiful people who, through some unknown and perhaps unfathonable (think I made that word up) quirk of circumstance (or fate, or destiny or something-not sure what to call it!) are born and live in a place that seems to try so persistently to keep them from hope.
My dear younger "sister," keep on being the church and the light to our Haitian neighbors.
For what it's worth, the day we "bumped" into you at FLL on the way to COTP is a day I was the truly blessed by getting to meet and know an amazing young woman, namely YOU.
Thank you for what you are doing and know that you are loved and prayed for regularly.
I hope to see you there sometime soon.
Blessings on you.
Sincerely,
John S. Thank you so much for posting this and thank you so much for all that you do on a daily basis there, on the front lines. Wes and I are praying for Haiti. We are also praying for all of the COTP staff and babies.
Love you!!! TonyaUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12817834168329281888noreply@blogger.com
